Okay, you're convinced by now that I'm just a die-hard Californian who'se cribbing about coming down to DC....au contraire, my friends...
I never thought that such drastic transformations were possible in nature. When it's almost as if you go to sleep one night, and everything is as it usually is...you know, dreary and leafless, and lifeless and all wintery...and you wake up the next morning, and somewhere during the previous night, this inexplicable force waved a magic wand over the entire place, and the dreariness was washed out, and in its place swept in this breath-takingly beautiful swish of colours...all, all over the place!
The cherry blossoms were more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. Pink and white...like a canopy of hue against the blue skies...every street, every road lined with blossomming trees of every imaginable colour...how very beautiful...
In LA, there are no changing seasons. No spring colours, just the same kind of weather all year round. Nice in a way, no sudden surprises...but also boring.
In DC - Highways, city, country-side...no matter where you are, there's a fresh sight to behold everywhere. Sometimes, when you round a bend, a huge flowering tree so gorgeous can make you stop in your tracks, and momentarily wonder at how bounteous and beautiful nature can really be, and how varied and intricate and amazing life really is.
Round Three - Colourful, colourful DC
